East Bay artist's painting of homeless woman sparks movement to help

"I decided that I wanted to paint her. I want to make people feel seen," said Thompson. "It is the people that you walk by and you necessarily don't stop to think about what their story is and I just want to highlight that regardless of who they are."

By Melissa Pixar

"It's been a humbling experience to learn about the issue of homelessness and all that it takes for a community to make a difference," Thompson noted. "It's an uphill battle, but one that is worth fighting."

by Dolores Fox Ciardelliy

"In this series I seek to reveal unseen layers. Creating a sculptural element to an otherwise two-dimensional medium and an in-depth look at the process in which a piece comes to life. The paintings within “Layers” represents the human condition through reflections on creative process, interpretations of songs, and nature."
